Since leaving Steam Early Access and launching in full at the end of 2017, it definitely looks as if Pubg Vehicles Corp is continuing to do all it can to weed out cheaters in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in order to maintain its status as the premier Battle Royale title on the market. Of course, with competitors like Fortnite offering a similar experience with its own Battle Royale mode at no cost to fans, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the genre and which game eventually comes out on
With all the success and attention however, some things have of course changed. Microtransactions were rushed into the game in time for the PUBG Invitational which is offputting, especially given the in sale after-market prices for skins and prices of the limited time crates (and keys to unlock them), but the worst part of the players is how the devs have slowed down on the game updates and virtually stopped communication with the community. This was called out on Reddit to which the PUBG Esports Program Manager responded to reveal a few things in progr
The newest patch spent just a day on test servers before going live earlier today, and fans quickly noticed that amongst the smaller issues it addresses, the update decreases item spawn levels on the starting island. This refers to live rounds of actual gameplay and not the opening lobby where players can grab weapons like the Groza or the 9 mm VSS sniper rifle and various tools before boarding the pl
A handful of bug fixes came with the update, including the elimination of the flame animation that would occur in the plane when a player was on fire from being struck by a molotov cocktail. This change means players will no longer see a trail of fire shooting out from the back of the plane. Find the full patch notes be
Ascent: Infinite Realm’s site also lists the character classes that the game will offer: Sorceress, mystic, warlord, assassin, and gunslinger. They appear to fit into traditional RPG archetypes of mage, healer, warrior, thief/rogue, and hunter/marksman, respectively. Given how unconventional the rest of the game seems to be, it’s a bit surprising to see rather conventional options in the character creation department. Perhaps the future reveal of subclasses (each class will have two of them) will deepen and diversify gameplay opti
Chisam said that they chose the name Paladins: Battlegrounds as an homage to MMO’s. Since the game will use teams and rely on high-speed mounts, Chisam feels this likens it more to classical MMO battlegrounds more so than the current Battle Royale games. This leads to the question why PUBG would call their game a “battleground” if it looks and feels more like a battle royale than an
This isn’t the first time that High Rez has been accused of ripping off popular game genres, either. Back when the game was first released, many claimed that it was a direct Overwatch rip-off , and there was even discussion of whether Blizzard could sue over how blatant it was. Similarly to the current situation, COO Todd Harris had to come out and defend Paladins , claiming that it wasn’t a cl
The ability to expand field of view should be helpful for players who felt the standard first-person view was too narrow. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is already competitive, but the extra degree of immersion and risk that comes with the first-person mode may make it more competitive. And the FOV options should satisfy serious FPS players who are used to this tool in other competitive shooters like Rainbow Six Siege or Overwat
As it so happens, this isn’t the first instance of players getting some kind of comeuppance after cheating in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds , as Tencent–that is, the company responsible for the game’s Chinese localization and the mobile port–recently helped police arrest 120 cheat makers in China . Interestingly enough, some Chinese cheaters caught in the crackdown had already done jail time in the past, which makes one wonder if PUBG Corp’s huge ban of 100,000 players will actually assist in deterring further exploitation in the fut
Bluehole, the developer behind PC-gaming sensation PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds ( PUBG ), has launched the site for its upcoming MMORPG title, **Ascent: Infinite Realm ** . The studio has set high expectations for itself with the runaway success of PUBG, which has consistently been among Twitch’s most-streamed and most-watched games since its early-access release last Ma
This patch is the final live update for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds until version 1.0 is unveiled later this year alongside the Xbox Game Preview build for the Xbox One console. Bluehole does, however, have test servers for vaulting, climbing, and a new desert map planned as the game’s two million players wait for the title to launch in f
Currently, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a third-person shooter that forces players to fight to the death on an island, and it’s incredibly popular as is . The third-person camera allows players to scope out targets over walls and around corners, giving them a strategic advantage. A first-person camera will make spotting enemies in the game more difficult and riskier, as players will have to peek out from behind cover to do so. The upcoming change ups the stakes for intel gathering. While Battlegrounds currently allows players to toggle a first-person view, it lacks some of the polish and tools FPS gamers are used to. One tool that’s been missing was a field-of-view slider, making players’ views narrow. In its next update, Battlegrounds will be getting first-person only servers, and with them a FOV slider. PlayerUnkown shared how that will affect players’ views in a Tw
