Registration is now open for the 20th Bienneial Southwest Symposium, which will be held in El Paso, Texas from February 18-20, 2025. Early registration will end on December 15, 2026, but you can still register after this date or at the meeting itself. There is no additional registration fee for presenters. These are the current fee rates:

Regular Attendee: $110
Student Attendee: $ 55 – Open to all students attending accredited educational institutions in any country.
Reduced Rate Attendee: $55 – Reduced rate fees are for those from any tribal organization or other indigenous groups.

  • Late registration (after December 15, 2026) is an additional $25 to the early registration prices. Registration in advance helps ensure shorter lines during check-in at the conference, and it also ensures that we will have plenty of coffee, snacks, printed programs, and other materials on hand.
  • On-site registration will be available during the conference.

Poster Session

There is an open invite for the poster session to be held on Friday, February 19th. To submit a poster for inclusion, send a title, abstract (100 to 200 words), list of authors, and author affiliations to Matthew Pailes at mpailes@ou.edu. All submissions must be received by December 15th. There is limited space available for the poster session, so interested participants are encouraged to submit early to secure a spot. Presenters should endeavor to link the topic of their posters to the Annual theme. There is no additional cost to be a poster presenter aside from the regular registration.

Student Poster Award

To help encourage graduate student participation, this year will include an inaugural student poster session award. All student posters will be automatically entered. Entrants will be judged by the current board members of the SW Symposium with a $500 cash prize.
